Explore Becoming a Mediator in this 3-hour class at Colorado Free University in DenverExplore becoming a mediator in this three-hour class.  Sessions are coming up on 3/10/18 and 5/12/18.  Exploring Mediation as a Career.

Do you like to work with people, solve problems, and contribute to your community? Perhaps a career in conflict resolution is for you! Come get answers to questions like: How can I make a living in mediation? How do I get started? 

Mediation training can be a terrific new career path.  Opportunities are increasing for trained mediators in many business and legal settings.

Instructors–One of these two mediators will lead the class:

Jo-Marie Lisa has been practicing mediation professionally since 1994 and opened her consulting practice, Bear Wolf Consulting & Mediation Services, Inc., in 1997. She taught mediation/arbitration at the University of Denver School of Law and also in DU’s University College in the MA ADR program. She has traveled extensively teaching mediation, negotiation, and conflict resolution around the country for the USDA Graduate School. Her areas of specialization include employment disputes, EEO disputes, real estate disputes (including HOA disputes), and business/civil disputes. Neila Achter has mediated for the last six years with private and volunteer mediators in many types of cases. She has helped inform the community at large with an educational presentation about mediation. Neila has her master’s degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. She and Jo Marie Lisa co-teach the Become a Mediator course at CFU.  Both instructors are eager to share their insights and experience so that you can explore becoming a mediator.

Colorado Free University is an adult continuing education center in Denver.  We offer a wide menu of enrichment and skill-based classes for anyone over the age of 17.  CFU is a relaxed learning environment and there are no entrance requirements, grades, or tests.  Classes are taught by independent contractors who are experts in their fields and are motivated to give back to the community.
